Elitest Hunter

an elitest is a member of the elite... so pretty much the same thing

Nope, different thing. An elitist believes in the rule of a select group, and believes that he is part of that group. Everyone else might just think he's a prick, but he believes that being part of this group entitles him to something. (See Liberal:rolleyes:)

An elite hunter is one who takes the time to ensure that all his gear is in good working
order before the season opens, uses a hunting checklist to ensure that he doesn't forget anything and is ready to go afield when the season opens... also is a hunter who does his best to distance himself from other hunters in the field/woods to enjoy the solitude of the hunt and let others do the same.

But this is NOT an elitist hunter.

Canada is a very small place, with incredibly consistent topography, climate and vegetation. Game species From PEI to BC are so nearly identical in behavior that it can be said that no concernable variation in hunting technique, or equipment need occur within the country. This is why I have formed the opinion that anyone who does not hunt with a pump action .300 sav Ackley Improved with a fixed 4X scope, nickel plated brass, face camo, Varmint Grenades, trauma plates, and one of those bright orange butt hole puller plugs has no business out in the bush. Call me a snob or an elitist hunter if you want. Flame on.:D

so an elitist hunter is a two timing backstabing liberal lovin hunter...or somewhere along them lines

No again. An elitist believes in elitism, which is the rule of a select group. An elite hunter may be highly skilled and experienced, but an elitist (note the different word) hunter believes that this entitles him to something, perhaps to be the ethics cop for the entire universe.

Elitist to me would be someone that feels only their choicen of weapon or style of hunting is acceptable aqnd they set themselves above others that don't use these weapons or methods.

I HATE so called hunters, that hate other hunter's legal methods of hunting:mad:

I come to believe some hunters have serious misgivings about hunting and killing, but have rationalized that in a narrow set of circumstances it is OK. This set of circumstances just happens to be exactly the way they do things, or claim to do things and only then if they feel remorse:rolleyes:. Everyone and everything else is wrong. I would think that in the long run they would be happier if they just quit and saved themselves the mental anguish.

People that think their way is the only way...

More to do with a persons personality style than anything else...
