Woke up about 5:00 am and heard the elk bugling this morning. I was tempted to get up and grab my old elk call and mess around with them a bit but decided to lay in bed and listen to the music. West Central Alberta - Edson region.

It's late. I'm still 13 days from getting out.... but should be still going in NE SK.
Occasionally I will take out my Pa's really old elk "whistle", as they were called back then, and bugle back to them. Once in a while I can get 3 or more bulls around the area bugling back and forth. Then I can sit back in my chair and sip a whiskey and watch the campfire while listening to Mother Nature's music.
An old friend left me his Berry Thunder Bugle to play with but the reed is shot in it. I checked with the maker and they said they no longer provide the replacement reed for this bugle. Anyone have any life hack that might get it working again.

What is the reed made from. Mic it for thickness and trace it onto the same material then cut it out. If its mylar its easy to find and not too expensive.
Easy enough to make your own whistle from a piece of plastic pipe. All we used in the old days and worked well.

If your talking azone 56....I was out for Archery...had a herd Bull cranked up on Aug 25th....but no shot. Will be back on the 15th...
