Hello guys and gals

I have a antlerless draw for MU 7-20 Dec1 - Feb 28
Not sure when the best time would be to go also I know most of the area is private land. Can anyone give directions to some crown land or know any landowners in the area that I could talk with to get concent to hunt??
Or any gunnutz want to take me out hunting in this area??
Any help here would be great.
Thanks

Don

Don't forget to contact your best resource for land owners that are willing to allow hunters to access their private lands to get rid of the elk...I'm talking about the CO's my friend. Up there they keep lists of all the landowners willing to allow hunters on their land to clear some of the elk off. All you have to do is give em a call.

Give the landowner a call .Then ask if he can phone you when they are on his property. I am sure this would not be a problem. A map is always good to take with you .

Thanks again for the tip.
Called today and they are sending a list of ranchers in the area that will allow hunters on their land to hunt Elk.

I will have to make a trip up and visit with a few of the ranchers and get a feel for the land before the hunt.

Thanks again for the tip

Congrats on the draw (I got the either ### draw for the same time)

You should try and go as early as possible, the elk are supposed to be much better eating early on as they still have alot of fat. I have heard the late season elk taste a little "tallowy".

I Have found at least 3/4 of the landowners will allow you to hunt elk on their land, as the elk cause so many problems. I would suggest heading to the area between Hudsons Hope and Ft St John. It would be nice for you to head up in the summer and make some contacts/ pre-arrangements, rather then showing up on Mr Farmers doorstep with a rifle in December.

Good Luck!
