Elk Farm Hunting Looking For Trouble!!

I would even go as far as to condem people with private land who post it so only they can shoot wild game. If you want no hunting that means you too. You don't own the game

I disagree; Riden is right. In fact, way up north here, the law is you can't hunt within 1 KM of a residence unless you have authorization first - so it's a reverse onus - it's assumed you can't hunt unless you can prove otherwise. You don't even need to be on the person's property - just 1 KM from their house. The real down side of this is homes out in the middle of nowhere (and there are lots!) end up creating these little "no hunting" zones 2KM across. Drives guys like me freakin crazy.

you know that cwd in humans is called square dancing?

My Grandmother died a short (6 week) but agonizing death from CJD. The reason it can't be tested for while alive (including in humans) is that it only manifests in the brain, and you can't exactly take pieces of a living brain out to look under the microscope, now can you? Try to think about other people before making buffoon statements and jokes, as not every disease or tragedy needs to be joked about. Sometimes, even the rarest of diseases has a face, and every person deserves to have respect and dignity. My grandmother certainly deserves it. I am sure your's does too.

I agree that every person has the right to control access to their land. However, it has become ridiculous with outfitters making deals with land owners and excluding all local hunters. By posting up large tracts of land land owners are in fact laying claim to the game.

How the hell can a non land owner have a chance. I have always been respectful and always ask permission even if the land is not posted. But more and more land access is shrinking.

I think land owners have to be a little more understanding and less worried about making money from the outfitters or hoarding the game for themselves.

In Saskatchewan it is ILLEGAL to lease or otherwise pay money for exclusive access for hunting purposes. If outfitters are doing so they can be reported. I sympathize with non-landowners who are facing some shrinking opportunities. I was too, until I invested more money than my house is worth to ensure I always have a place to hunt. That was a huge sacrifice, my family could have spent the money many other ways. But it was my priority, and my wife supported that choice. So for someone to tell me I don't have any right to control access to the land I sacrificed so much in order to buy, I can't agree with. Over 70% of the total land area of Saskatchewan is public, and open to all. There are plenty of wildlife habitat lands scattered throughout the settled portion of the province, and even community pastures, provincial parks, etc. are nearly all open to hunting some of the time. Those who whine about the few restrictions that we do have here do not have my sympathy.

We'll have to agree to disagree. My view point comes from how in the UK the Lords and nobility AKA landowners laid claim to all the game. My personal experiences lead me to believe that things are moving this way in Canada as well. For example in a lot of the US if you don't own land or are wealthy enough to afford outfitters you have to compete with thousands of other hunters on federal lands.

Rest assured my friend that I would never hunt on land without permission. I've been an ethical and well behaved hunter my whole life and I won't change. I know that the actions of some give us all a bad name and that is why much of the land where I hunt is now posted.
