nice deer, a shame about the one being a waste

couldnt find it in the evening? surely someone wouldnt leave a deer out overnight if they could avoid it...

for sure... it was pitch black with in 20 mins of the shot(we were in a valley) we have left animals overnight before... useually the wolves and cyotes don't find them till they've been there a while. i figure it was a pack that just happened upon the deer. but yes it was a shame especially since it was the shooters first mulie.

sorry silverado i missed your post... yeah he tagged it. he wanted the rack and since it was saturday we couldn't get hold of a CO to ask the legalities of what to do.

While it sucks that the scavengers ate his meat, I'm relieved to hear he did the right thing. Good on him and whoever taught him...

Excellent that he tagged the deer. In our camp anyone can take any shot they want, but if they draw blood, the tag is notched and hung up. Surpising how few "hope" shots get taken any more!

the wolf is being made into a rug for his wall and the skull bleached. the head look huge i'm interested to see what it scores.
