Heading to Epps tomorrow. Will post if it was good or bad.
i believe they close after thanksgiving weekend unfortunately
Just complaining.. - Cant say I shop at the location because I'm in Alberta, but their website just annoys me - I mean there's a pretty basic standard for good online websites nowadays and you either know you have a good one, or you don't, Prophet River is another I struggle with. - These guys could learn a lot from the SFRC, Bullseye Sports or Al Flaherty's, I purchase from these places ALL THE TIME because it's just so convenient. - easily searchable, easily browse-able, and pictures for everything. You gotta imagine that the amount of money you pay for an Online web host to maintain the site and update inventory, will pay the wages back in online sales in no time? Either way it tells me 'old school' management who has probably done well and isn't into fresh or new ideas, most likely getting an online website 'was' a fresh new idea. - Two cents
I took one hard look at their prehistoric website and had myself a good laugh. Never bothered to return, because of stuff like this:
They should modernize before they suffer the same fate as Lebaron.
- Please restrict your photo inquiries to two firearms per customer per day.
- No pictures are available for "AS IS" firearms.
- We do not take photos of new firearms. These pictures can be found on the manufacturer's website.
Did you stop at Weber's as a consolation?
I have driven past that place a zillion times and never once stopped for a burger. Anyone tried them?
Considering the volume of guns they sell I dont think they will miss you.
I never understood the hate fore their website. All other sites use stock images of the new guns anyway. The descriptions they have are better than what I find on other sites. And you can clearly see how many of any firearm they have in stock which you rarely see anyplace else. Their accessories could use help tho I will admit.
If anything, their listings of used guns is far better than any other site I've come across. And I don't mind asking for pics.
Seems like most of the ppl #####ing about their site would be the same ppl butt hurt over an EE. Ad with no pics either.
You're right, they won't miss me and I won't miss them. That being said, do a quick forum search and you'll soon see they're our most hated on sponsor. Without fanboys like yourself they'd surely be already out of business.
Pretty typical story today
Called yesterday around noon,to see if Ellwood Wood had a part I was looking for and the guy on the phone said yes, I'll go get it and put it on hold. The reason i called in advance is that I was driving up from Toronto specifically for this part.
Get to Ellwood this morning, not only did they not have the part, the guy I talked to knew about this at 8pm last night, he also knew ibwas driving up from Toronto cause I advised him of such. He could have called or texted, no harm no foul.
I do have to admit though there was a gentlemen that works there that helped me go through their very disorganized store to see if one might be on a different aisle, he even went as far to check the gunsmithing room if there was one there that he said he would give me.....this is a good guy.
I'll never go back to Epps again, I always leave feeling let down.
Boychuia:
Can I ask what part you were looking for when you came up to Ellwood Epps? We have a large number of new employees who are still learning their way around both our computer systems and our in-store inventory. It is quite possible that you spoke with one of those staff members when you called our store, but spoke with another person when you actually visited us.
It is also possible that if we had only one item in stock when you called, it might have been sold to another customer before you arrived here, as you made no mention of paying for that item when you spoke with our staff member to ensure it would be here when you visited our store.
Regardless of the what-ifs and maybes, I can certainly take another look for the item you require. If we do not have that item available in stock, we can likely order it in for you, if you still need that product.
Please let me know.
My name is Kevin. I can be reached through the Epps E-mail address at info@ellwoodepps.com

Nothing special in my books. The allure is in the walkway across the highway or sitting in a dining car. Waiting in a long line for average fare, nope.
Your inability to effectively train new staff is now the consumers problems?
