Embracing my Fudd Heritage

....... as opposed to the old Fudd look.

I won't sully it's Fuddness with an all copper bullet, I think I have some 180gr Partitions on the shelf, so I'll try them out. After all, Partitiond were pretty cutting edge back then!
Partitions? Good heavens, man! For true Fuddness only Core-Lokts will do.

That's classic! See-through mounts...and no rear sight to see through them! :) I guess that one's just set up that way so that the scope can be used as a carrying handle.

Seriously, this is a wonderful thread. Congratulations on that wonderful old gun, and don't worry...getting it the way you did is far preferable to the alternative, and unfortunately much more common, method of acquisition.

As far as magazines are concerned there are lots of choices, I think. Unless my CRAFT disease is really kicking in any of the 74 series i.e. 740,742 74 will work and likely the 750. Also the 760 & 7600 will work without the action hold open deviance on the last round.

The SIN etching into the receiver.... was that an RCMP advised thing from the '70s? Hard to imagine doing that kind of thing now.

No, K Tel or some other company started peddling etching pens and people started marking anything they owned. Lots of firearms were etched with SIN's and I still have a Lee Enfield so marked.

Too bad it's 30-06 I have what I believe is the right clip for it here but is says 308 on it and no rifle to use it in. Found it in a box of odds and ends at a auction. it was still full of ammo when I found it. Nice rifle would love to have one myself especially if my dad had owned it first.
