Embracing my Fudd Heritage

Must have been a full moon last night... the Fudds were Hyper-active... the first five threads this morning we're as follows;

Elmer Keith collection up for auction.
Embracing my Fudd Heritage
Remington pump gun rebarrel to 9.3X62.
A Husqvarna fit for a king?
Pre 64 M70 help

Fudds are people not firearms. And it is a term to describe people who know nothing about firearms so they assume that if it is black and plastic it is more dangerous than his model 94 winchester with the deer kills cut into the stock. Unfortunately we dont have a name for the people who think the opposite. Mall ninjas maybe? Or xbox commandos? Anyways...

Guess you and I have different definitions of humor. OP mentions A gun in all its fudd glory. Which makes no sense since Fudd isn't a firearm descriptor, Followed by a bunch of people appreciating his gun, and how ones gun could be made more Fudd by doing "x" to it, which makes no sense since once again see first set of reasoning. So I may have missed the humor but it feels like I walked in into the remedial ed class and everyone is laughing at something not funny, and then telling me I didn`t get it... Reminds me of this...

Funny how all the new-age shooters have managed to turn "Fudd" into an insulting, derogatory term, meant to imply that all the old-school shooters are bringing about the end of shooting in Canada by not necessarily agreeing with their tastes. You know, you've all heard it..."Fudds" are throwing these guys with their black rifles under the bus, making the job of the antis much easier by not presenting a united front.

This guy ^ is certainly showing how the non-Fudds think and operate, and it doesn't strike me as particularly tolerant or "united". Take a Valium, buddy...this thread was fun for those of us who understand and enjoy it...if you don't, the digital door is right behind you.

Had a whole thing written out but realized it isn't worth it, Probably involve scrolling too much on your Ipads and I know the arthritis makes it uncomfortable. For the record though Old time shooters are not all fudds, Fudds have to show an ignorance that matches the anti gun mentality for all guns but their own cherished rifles. enjoy your topic.

"Fudd" in preference is not the same as abandoning the brotherhood...

What's with the hostility???

It's ok to just shuffle along... lots to see elsewhere...

Nobody cares what you think, newbie

OK, I'm trying to *build* a Fudd heritage in my family (my hippy parents met at a water ski commune in Quebec city).

Do I need to buy a semi-auto or a pump rifle? You guys are confusing!

A pump will trump the semi in the Fudd dept, besides there's a lot of semis out there that should be banned and the 740/742/7400s are pretty close to being in that group.

My family has no firearm background, my old man was very nearly an anti............so I have no FUDDINESS to fall back upon, but I do appreciate the humor of the whole situation............unlike some apparently. My youthful aspirations were during the Weatherby era, long after the REAL Fudd movement was entrenched. The only semis I have ever owned were a couple Garands and a Jungman, not nearly fuddy enough to qualify, and I have never owned a CF pump..............so like I said I have to live FUDD through those of you who have a much richer and longer firearms/hunting heritage than I.
