EMF Dakota Good? Bad?

I just bought a EMF Dakota 45 colt, 4 3/4 barrel.
I have always owned Blackhawks and this is my first
peacemaker copy.I am looking for opinions,good,bad
or ugly.I did some reading on them and it seemed a
good choice in my price range.Thanks 375rum

Former EMF Owner

Many years ago I had an EMF Dakota in a 5-1/2 bbl., .44-40. It was just an awfully lot of fun. I used it along with a Mdl. 92 Winchester, and found them both very satisfying bangers. I traded them both quite a while ago, but I remember them both fondly. If I remember correctly, the Dakota had a Colt hammer with the firing pin, rather than the more modern versions which use the frame-mounted pin.
