encore barrel lenghts?

I have changed everything up in the gun safe and went Tc encore prohunter, I have a 223 barrel and 280 rem, they are 28 inches , would you cut them down to 22" or 24", just to lighten them up, the 223 is a tack driver the way it is, haven't tried the 280 yet, I really like short rifles

I have a 45 70 govt that is a factory short barrel complete with irons

ya, all the 45-70 I have seen have 20" barrels

I have had a 233 that was 26 and cut it to 20. Also have a 18.5 in 375hhthat came from the factory. I also like the short rifles for carry and handling

24" is the sweet spot ..i just had my T/C prohunter7 mm rem mag cut to 24" it was 28"before and barrel heavy .

that's what I was thinking, have them cut to 24"
