Ended the 8mm Mauser Blues

I use a Lee case trimmer, just the end that goes on the drill. Put it in a cut to length jig, cut it with a Olfa knife in 5 seconds. Doesn't even leave a bur. After 25 or so it gets dull, break a inch of the blade and go again. While it's on the drill camfer it, all done in 15 seconds.

I haven't really seen a lot of it, just small batches here and there. Most of the brass I have comes from commercial loads or the odd batch of expensive new brass. When my shooting/loading partner and myself decide to load a round, we usually need one or two thousand pieces of brass. We've solved our problems with volume by doing the 30.06 conversion. I've got pails of it collecting dust.

ahh, I have no need of that much 8x57 ammo. I try to keep between 500 and 1000 on hand, but I only shoot a single bolt action rifle in this caliber.

I just keep my eyes peeled for whenever a good deal on some 1x fired comes up.

My setup is.

Anneal
size in 8m/m die.
Use a power trimmer
remove burrs
load as normal.
Some cases are on eight firings.
Goes fairly fast with a Dewalt drill hooked to trimmer.
I have about 110 actual 8m/m cases but I like to have 3 or 4 hundred cases.
Besides what is a man to do with 1 1/2 5 gallon buckets of 30-06 cases. Goes against the grain to take them to the scrap yard.
Power trimmers are a wonderful thing to own when you are into case forming, almost as good as my lathe.
