Gents,...mulling over finding a nice #4 sporter with a good bore and building it as a sniper.Am I looking at an impossible set up?...I have seen the mounts and bases, what of the #32 scope..?...repros good too I'd think.. Worth a shot or not?
Wheaty still has that repro he's gone through listed last I saw. But from him not some dealer, trust me!!! I have 200rds at least of full powered loads through it now and it's rock solid and every bit as deadly as a real 4T. Plus I'm out elk hunting in a freaking monsoon and its not making me have an anxiety attack to have it out there getting soaked, muddy etc. just bring it in and dry then re-oil, not a chance I'd do that with an original. As far as the work, take it slow and it's well worth it. If you need any help with anything just get ahold of myself or Wheaty on here, I'll even PM you my number if you need some help if you run into trouble.
They are a beautiful think when done right, it will be your favorite rifle, even more so if you build it for yourself, it is truly your rifle, and you will learn a ton about the whys and what's it's with the originals by building it yourself.
