Gents,...mulling over finding a nice #4 sporter with a good bore and building it as a sniper.Am I looking at an impossible set up?...I have seen the mounts and bases, what of the #32 scope..?...repros good too I'd think.. Worth a shot or not?

It depends on what you really want.

Those repro kits are OK and work well. They won't pass close inspection as real though. It's also to bad that they didn't copy the later model scopes though.

A real No4 MkI T will start at $3500. Yeah, there is the odd one that can be picked up really cheap from someone that doesn't know what they have but that's the proverbial needle in a haystack.

The last decent rifle I saw went for $4500 and the fellow that bought it was happy to get it.

If you're looking for a shooter and have the ability to build up the rifle you envision yourself, the kits are just fine and pretty much give you the same experience of shooting an original.

They are a Canadian distributor for the stuff and their prices are better than anywhere else. Around $450 for a complete setup.

I saw some of their stuff in the Vernon BC gunshow, about a month ago. Very well made.

Wheaty still has that repro he's gone through listed last I saw. But from him not some dealer, trust me!!! I have 200rds at least of full powered loads through it now and it's rock solid and every bit as deadly as a real 4T. Plus I'm out elk hunting in a freaking monsoon and its not making me have an anxiety attack to have it out there getting soaked, muddy etc. just bring it in and dry then re-oil, not a chance I'd do that with an original. As far as the work, take it slow and it's well worth it. If you need any help with anything just get ahold of myself or Wheaty on here, I'll even PM you my number if you need some help if you run into trouble.

They are a beautiful think when done right, it will be your favorite rifle, even more so if you build it for yourself, it is truly your rifle, and you will learn a ton about the whys and what's it's with the originals by building it yourself.

Warren knows his stuff when it comes to Lee Enfields and Vickers Machineguns. He either does it right or not at all.

The glass is really good too. We have clear skies here tonight and by moonlight it works beautifully, at least on par with most of the modern scopes in our hunting camp.
