Hi, I know it's really a small collection, but I am very proud to have acquired some very nice examples.

1. N0.4 Mk.1 T BSA Shirley 1944
2. No.4 Mk1 1943
3. No. 5 Mk1 1947

I know, I know, It was my father's moose rifle though. This was the rifle I fondled as a little kid. Probably the reason I'm a Gunnut

I will find a better one with wood

Leave the middle one as is. There are lots of them around if you're looking for a full wood model.
There isn't another one around that has the memories of your fathers' rifle. It will lose most of its specialness to you if you refurb it to original status. bearhunter

Very nice (T), I have a Shirley made in 1945. The closest milsurp matches that I know of would be in Wainwright. "Klunk" puts on World War 2 re-enactor matches twice a year there. About 40% of the people dress the part, but everyone uses WW2 firearms.

Nothing overly rare about such rifles....30,000 or so made. Add to that another ###X amount of fakes, and every gunnut in Canada should have one. Of course, the cost may be a factor for most.

Arch: You cannot have too many Enfields. You have 3 down, and only a few hundred to go.

1. With that sort of personal connection, it is historically important enough to be maintained in its current condition.

2. However few in number, any "collection" that includes a genuine T is to be envied.

Ah but, I do still have a deer head on my No4 bubba's butt stock that the previous owner so skillfully carved. Now that's a collection item
