Enfield Feeding Issues With SP Ammo

As the title states.

Usually as I get down to about round 7 or 8 the SP tip of the bullet gets caught on the feed lip (Correct term ?) and mushrooms pretty badly. Making it impossible to load the round into the chamber on cocking the bolt. So I have to manually load it.

I am assuming this is because the Enfield wasn't designed for SP ammo ?

Any thoughts or tips ?

They feed military ammo best (of course) and round nose bullets usually feed better than pointed soft points. This is from my experience.

very slightly bend the two lips at the front of the mag apart so that the bullet tip can rise a bit higher as it's being pushed forward.

It won't take much though so don't be heavy handed.

You may also need a new mag spring. They are available but out of the US.

I find I have more of an issue with my P14 hanging up with SP reloads. All my Enfields seem to run fine with them...

Trying using Winchester ammo. For what ever reason I never had this issue using Winchester. Every other brand had the issue.

I reload now and also do not have this issue, even with SP

My Lee Enfield seems to eat up everything and anything but I did have issues with the Remington sp ammo in my p14
