Do we have a excellent gunsmith in Canada that is extremely knowledgeable doing work on #4's ?????????? I'm talking about bedding, fitting fore-ends properly, maybe installing scope pads etc... ???
Just to let the Enfield guys know tried a Huber's Concecpt trigger out on an AIAM10B2 Match rifle this weekend and Wow...what a difference, going to get a few for the #4's.Regards

Finding an old school gunsmith to bed and accurize one of these old beasts will be difficult. I'm sure some of the old guys in the UK still do this.
There's an art to bedding them that will be lost in todays smiths.

I do work on enfields, only the non collectable lost cause ones, but only my own so I can't be any help here. I'm also far from an expert... couple tiers above bubba LOL , I just like to do all my own work whenever possible ;)
guys like louthepou or smelly should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Look up 303 British forum, may be 303 British .com, not sure. I picked up a nice book form Ellwood Epps (sponsor 1-705-689-5333) done by a Canadian guy. If I can find the book tomorrow I'll pm you. He would likely have contacts for you as well as info on bedding. Also Precision Shooting magazine had an article several years ago about bedding the LEE's, perhaps you can contact them. I bedded and lapped the barrel on a #4 years ago. Went from just being able to keep 5 shots on a target (6"+ @ 50) to about 1 1/2 moa @ 100. ( I used Sierra's for that last group with a scope, the old eyes don't behave that well anymore.) Best of luck with your search.

haahaa Tom i know if cant walk him throw it you would know someone how can

All the old guys in the UK are retired or passed on. Brit laws have closed nearly all gun shops there.
Very much doubt you'll find a working smithy who does anything to a No. 4. There is no reliable source for parts, anywhere.
If you contact Huber's Concept, tell him a No. 4 Mk I Lee-Enfield isn't an SMLE. No W's. corlanes.com/huber-triggers/
If you put one on a military configuration No. 4, you will half its value too.

X2 for Louthepou a moderator on here and lives near Ottawa ....He does great work !

Here is a couple he did for me last year .

On Youtube there are a couple of excellent bedding demos on No4s. One's Aussie and the other New Zealand. Aussie was traditional, Kiwi was epoxy. Got groups down to 1.5 moa.

I put a Thor trigger into mine, big improvement.

There are any number of ways to sqrew up a No.4, but a few ways to make it shoot better. Military armourers were trained to work with a full set of parts bins and to very gingerly modify government issue parts.

What is so special about the rifle you want to accurize?

Back when the #4 was still used for long range, I can remember a big rain that soaked all the gear. The guys were taking then apart to dry out and it was like confetti falling to the floor all the little bits of secret bedding material, mainly cigarette box material.

A great book to read is "the 2012 Complete Book on the Lee Enfield Accurizing" by Roger Wadham
He takes you through a lot of the "Dark Arts"
He also has a youtube channel
