It's a better setup. The trigger is no longer hung by the trigger guard, meaning it's unaffected by changes in the wood or blows to the bottom metal in service. Al too often. the older style triggers have become single stage through wood shrinkage or abusive handling of the rifle. The Mk2 design is immune to that and very consistent. Also, the through bolt for the stock is more positive and gives a more consistent fit at the draws, prolonging the life of the forestock.
