Enfield MK2 original Finnish?

I have a 1950 South African marked Mk.2 that was blued and then painted with a black enamel. This rifle was center bedded and used for military competition and the first cleaning I was rubbing the barrel and receiver with Kroil and the paint started to come off.

There was a transition period where some Mk.2 Enfield's did not get Suncorite paint until approximately 1951.

I hear you cant even buy suncorite and even if you could you would not want to use it.

I wish i could get duracoat or molly resin locally easy but I cant. So engine paint may be my go to. Maybe I should learn to parkerize this summer....

I believe you can get Suncorite if you have the right training, licensing, permits and environmental control systems - it's pretty darn toxic stuff. You could get it Cerakoted pretty easily.
