Anybony out there have any experience with the Enfield MK2?

Im curious...the action seems to be the typical "bulldog" style action. Ive read that they were considered a generally poor gun. Was this due to the complicated extraction system? Any experiences out there with shooting?

Bobby, FYI i am the original tupperware hater and not many people aside from a few nutz on here appreciate the beauty of old iron as much as I do, but that enfield is bar none the ugliest revolver ever to grace a mounties hip!
for refrence I even think a gasser has some admirable aesthetic qualities.LOL.

You know...i used to think that those things were ugly but they seem to have grown on me...I used to dislike SW model 3's as well i think it was something to do with the top break frame...now i would love to get ahold of one. The enfield's looks aside, i kinda like the ejecting mechanism...not a fan of the "bulldog style" lockup but...

Ive Had two of em and sold them both!
But there very intresting guns i thought well made and make a great Club when the Extractor Jams up when extracting the Cases

Both of mine were NWMP guns to!

They seem to be heavy guns...bigger than the 1878 colt if I recall correctly.

well i sold mine both for over two grand canadian.
But they were NWMP guns
I think if you could find one for $1600 US you would be doing good.

there BIG Heavy Well made guns. A little ugly but i like them still.
just a weird extraction system. That i didnt really like.
My Frist Antique gun i shot was a Enfield MKII tho and it was not bad.
It had a minty bore tho. I sure loved it till i got my second gun a MKI in 455

The enfields are very hard to find and will only go up in Price^

Heres a picture of one of my old guns with the action open.
It pulls the cylinder strait forward on its shaft pulling the empty cases outa the Cylinder.
Im sure with lots of Practice the NWMP got good at this Maby LOL

I have a NWMP also and have put a few hundred rounds through mine they are not accurate the chamber size is usually 460 but the bore is usually around 472-473 If you ream out the cylinders I hear you can get good accuracy I won't do that to mine because of value. I use a custom bullet mold Its a 473 heeled hollow base . 3f black gave the best accuracy black hits hard and fast and stretches the the bullet skirt better than smokeless. you can use 455 hollow base loads but there even more inaccurate. and I have know idea why they made the chambers sub bore size my book Handguns of the world has Exploded drawings of the Enfield with measurements they show chamber mouths as 460 . It's a bizar pistol but I love my ugly duck It gets some looks at the club and is fun to shoot .We have some steel gongs hanging at about 20 yards and if you shoot about a foot low you can hit them consistently.
