Enfield no 5 questions

I have what appears to be a 1945 no 5 mk1. It is pencil engraved on the receiver. I can only find a serial number on the bolt. There is no serial number under the forearm (M/47C) stamped under forearm. The band at the back of the receiver is stamped 47C 1945. It has all the appropriate lightening cuts and hollowed bolt.

Any ideas why no serial numbers?

It should be on the wrist/butt socket.

I've found them penciled so light I had to use a magnet and iron filings to read them.
