Does anyone know the aprox value of a No2 MkIV in failry reasonable shape?

Just for clarity ....

You're asking for a valuation on?

British Enfield #2 MK IV (.22 LR Caliber Single Shot Training Rifle)

Adopted in 1921, a single shot conversion from the SMLE Mk III Rifles. The rifle is rebarreled from .303 to .22LR. The bolt is modified with an offset striker. The follower and spring are removed from the magazine and then the magazine serves as a collection box for fired cartridge cases. There is no ejector.

If so, here's an excellent surplus rifles site that has a dedicated forum for .22 trainer collectors. I bet they can help out with this question, as well as longer term.

ParallaxBill's Curio & Relic and Military Surplus Firearms Forums

Military 22 Caliber Target & Training Firearms (click here)http://p102.ezboard.com/fparallaxscurioandrelicfirearmsforumsfrm23

I'm not entirely sure about value, but Joe Salter (click here)http://www.joesalter.com/detail.php?f_qryitem=2294 has one currently listed on his site for $795 U.S., although take it with a grain of salt (no pun intended), as he's usually high priced.

I've seen the equivalent Canadian C No.7 Longbranch .22LR Trainer sell for anywhere from $800 to $1500 Cdn, depending upon condition and whether they come with their original transit case and other accessories. I've never seen one with a bayonet.

If your not looking for information on this type of Enfield, then ignore everything I said .... :D

Hope this helps.....

Regards,
Badger

Yup thats the one. Thanks I will check out those links. I am suprised that the C no 7 is worth more, I didn't expect that.

#2's go for around $350. I bought a #2 with the #7 mag and the windage rear sight for $160 a few gun shows ago. Full wood but missing the charger guide. The mag and sight are almost worth the cost of the gun.
I've got 2 plus another one converted to .222.
