So I go ahead and purchase this No4 Long Branch. It is dated 1943 and it has the low cut 1941 fore-end on it.....so either it's been restocked in service which I doubt or it's been somebody's project. I have no problem with the '41 fore-end as it is a rare and a tough piece to find!!!
Anyhow I try out the trigger and there is no two stage typical pull!!! Gone completely......just a lighter very long pull and then it breaks and believe me you have no idea when. I hate it and want to return the trigger pull to the way it should be. Without taking it apart yet to order the replacement parts would I need just the trigger or are there other parts I need......sear????
Thanks for your input!!

Probably not the trigger. Might be the spacer bushing which surrounds the screw at the front of the trigger guard. Ordering parts without disassembly and determining the exact cause of the problem would be a waste of time.

To get any help here you really need to strip them and take a bunch of closeup photos of key parts. People have been known to intentionally alter them to single stage but the ones I've had to deal with were typically a result of improperly fit wood or other tinkering. If you're going to fix it you'd best look at it as a bit of a project and start by learning all about how the trigger on these is supposed to be set up. If you spend some time on Milsurps forum you can find all you need.
