-Why mk2 marked sight are called mk3 an mk3 called mk4?
-Some people claim that Longbranch produced de 300/600 L type sight but I never saw one marked with canadian marking, is it true and do you have any reference?
-Skeenerton affirm canadian marked mk2 sight (but called mk3 sight) are equiped with a cmk2 marked leaf. Someone had already saw this cmk2 marked leaf? I have handfull of canadian mk2,mk3 cmk3 marked sights but never saw one marked cmk2!?

Here is my understanding:

Mk1 The original micrometer sight "singer" type
Mk2 Flip-over 300 - 600
Mk3 sight with protruding adjustment catch most of these were upgraded
Mk4 variant of the Mk3 with upgraded adjustment catch

the mark number stamped on the No4 rearsights refer to the mark of the componant the mark is on, the Mk2 sight does does have a "leaf" so the Mk3 rearsight which does have a leaf has the second pattern of leaf so it (the leaf) is stamped Mk2

1941 with MkI Sight ...

1942 with MkII Sight ... I don't recall seeing the "LB" but I know that Savage did mark theirs "S"

nice rifle guys. One of my long branch is a 22L0950, early 1943. A 300/600 is the correct sight for it? Do you have an idea of between witch period this sight has been used. Thanks.

When the production of the No4 began they all were meant to have the Mk1 sight but as these were intricate to manufacture the Mk2 sight was introduced so as not to hold up production, the Mk1 sights were to be fitted as & when available so you could have a run of a few thousand rifles with a group in the middle fitted with Mk1 sights with the rest having Mk2s
