M.L.E. Rifle Mk1
I was looking at my Long Lee Enfield and mine was manufactured by BSA, they made 64,300 rifles. In Skennertons book he lists the Enfields, as M.L.E. Magazine Lee-Enfield and M.L.M. Magazine Lee-Metford. I have found four beater Long Lees, I probably had them for parts. The barrels are cut on three of them but they still have good recevers. One is a 1900 I* I think it is an L.S.A. manufactured gun.
Now that I have a minty M.L.E. 1, I am going to sell them or trade them off. One has the target sight manugactured by Parker. I think it goes on a later model but it is all there. That makes three or four target sights for the Enfields.

I had a L.S.A. MLE MkI that had the serial number 200.... no letter. My, she was in nice shape, except for the bore.... a bit of a sewer pipe, but fantasic wood, and original clearing rod to boot.
