I shot a Parker Hale P1858 this past weekend and decided I want to own one.

I know Pedersoli makes them and I can order for site sponsor - but none in stock. But I’m curious what an original one with a good bore would roughly cost to purchase. I saw one for $3000 and I simply don’t know if that’s good price or not.

I’ve read the reviews of Parker Hales 2 Band and while tempted I can’t see to find one for sale.

thank you in advance

Brian

No, it's not a good price. Not even close to a good price. This guy is in USD and is never cheap: ht tps://shop.joesalter.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=Parker%20Hale&description=true

I saw a Parker Hale P1853 sell at a recent local auction for $300 bid price... though that is cheap, but they are to be found below $1000.

I saw an original p53 in decent shape at the Calgary show for $2000 and it didn't sell.

$3000 for a Pedersoli is simply unreasonable.

Marstar has the Pedersoli's at $1874 for the 1858 though not in stock. Then $1923 for the P53 and in stock.

Thank you for the replies and messages.

To clarify Im looking for an Enfield 2 band Pattern 1858 Naval Rifle (rifled musket). My understanding is this model has a 33” barrel and 5 groove rifling

I really appreciate the quick responses.

Thanks

Brian

I think locally, a second hand Parker Hale would be around $1000. I paid $1100 for my original. The originals have very shallow rifling and I think a Parker Hale would be a better choice for a gun that you want to shoot

I had a Pedersoli 2 band but have since 'upgraded' to a Parker Hale (I got the PH on the EE here about 3 yrs ago now)

As stated - the PH has the progressive depth rifling, same as the originals, and the Pedersoli does not.

Also, the half c0ck on the Pedersoli is not at the right angle and I found it difficult to set the cap on the cone as there is not enough room.

Switzers had one in the Feb sale this year that sold for $900

I would recommend holding out for the PH if you can.

Thats the one I won, now I have the 3 piece set. Parker Hale 1853, 1958, and 1861. Fantastic muskets, my first black powders. Next up I'm looking for a repro Brown Bess for my first flintlock, then I'll eventually get a wheel lock and a matchlock

Owner of a Pedersoli here. If you do land one, just cross your fingers that the sights are set up straight on it. Mine are more or less useless for how cocked out of place they are.
