Enfield question...

...I currently own a No. 5 Jungle carbine that has been sporterized with a gawdawful Monte Carlo bastard buttstock. I am looking at a buttstock on the EE to replace it with. Question is will a WW2 vintage buttstock from a regular full wood enfield fit my No.5 ???. I realize that the jungle carbine had a rubber pad and possibly a shorter length of pull, but thats where my knowledge ends.
I am waiting for a pic. from the seller and hopefully I'll get it posted on here soon and we can do better from there.

Hi Mad Mikey,

The No5 had a butt stock unique to that model (with recoil pad, and side sling loop). If I recall correctly, the butt for a No4 would fit, but it would not be "correct".

I just saw a #5 buttstock advertized for sale. Check ebay. Can't recall where I saw it.

Yes, a regular stock will fit. Navy Arms used to sell repro butt pads, so you could come pretty close to duplicating the real look.

I really liked the repro sets from Numrich. You get an all-matching set and they look quite nice.
