Im pretty sure this question has been asked before

but does anyone know any alternative to the scope bases offered by marstar?

I have to say its nice to know that it wont damage my rifle, though I doubt the ability to keep zero, plus the "modern" look of it just doesnt go with a rifle

so is there an alternative, or spending $70 is justified here?

I'll know soon - I have a No4 Mk1 and a No1 mk3 that will be equipped with no gunsmithing scope mounts in the next couple of weeks, will be at the shooting range a bit later. Full report after that :)

I purchased a B-Square scope mount for my #1mrk3. It has some of the old school look with some new looks as well.

Its a no smithing mount and it went on fairly easy. I haven't had the chance to test it yet for holding zero but so far I'm happy with the look.

I got it from WSS for 45 bucks if I remember right.
