Enfield Scope mount interest ?

Greetings fellow Nutz
While i spend most of my time here in the main battle rifle forum under the moniker 45ACPKING, I have also , just this month, become a dealer here on CGN.

I have created 3 different picattinny rail scope mounting options for the No1 MK3 and the SHTLE 3* and would like to guage interest before i do up a production run.
the first 2 mounts utilize the same holes/hole pattern and screws as the old weaver t0-1 dovetail rail and are a direct replacement for those having the TO-1 already. mount A will be same length as the TO-1 and mount B will be an additional 2 inches longer, extending forward over the barrel
the 3rd mount is for standard scopes and for "scout" type optics and provides 12" inches of uninterupted rail.

rail will be mispec 1913 picatinny and i'm still debating on material selection...... 7075 anodized aluminum or hardened parkerized steel......


so, fire away..... who's interested in items such as this....

well, here's a pic of one of my fully customized hunting rifles wearing the standard length version. It's a hunting gun so please don't beat me down for "ruining" a perfectly good milsurp.... she is a resurected , totally bubba'd when i got her, shtle 3*. Incidentally, if anyone wants thier enfield to be modified and fully customized , similar to the rifle in the photo.... I can help you wth that ;)

You should really consider your rails going 2" BACK, instead of forward. I find, almost univerally, I'm mounting my scopes as far back on my rails as I possibly can, and am almost always wanting standard rails/mounts to be a couple of inches longer towards the rear (M14 mounts too!). I'd certainly look at any of your LE rails once they are out.

I had considered that , and could offer the "B" version either longer at the back or the front depending on demand.....
 
put me down for mk3 2 inches longer one. do you have pics of the 12" inches one? plz pm me priceing , also would you drill out and install it? "(also i would like to get it choped down to 18.5")
 
is it possible to still use the standard sights with a rail system like this? im thinking out to 100m with the standard sights and beyond with the optics. just kicking an idea around in my skull.

so what do you think?

i originally did up an open sight version and hated it..... the whole thing was too high and too bulky.

Also, with regards to "no gunsmithing" mounts...... I don't have any good experiences with those. I have spent many hunting seasons behind an enfield shtle#3 and have tried most of the mounts availlable.

thus my endeavor to create something new and to offer those whose enfields were already drilled and tapped for the weaver to-1 dovetail rail, an alternative that offered rock solid performance for hunting.

The only "gunsmith" requirement for any of the mounts will be the standard 2 holes in the receiver at the barrel ring and one in the stripper clip bridge, tapped to 6x32 (i think).
In the case of the long rail.... you will need to remove the rear sight elevation platform for the rail's front mount to install to your existing rear sight base.

Once these are ready i'll put up some pics.
 
No offence but this is the wrong forum to be promoting drilling and tapping receivers on milsurp rifles. If an already Bubbaed sporterized rifle needs a new base that's great, but as for drilling new holes...not popular here.

while i'm not an advocate of what some folks consider "ruining" a perfectly good, historically significant, milsurp rifle. The fact remains that there are thousands out there that were drilled and tapped back in the 60's and 70's .... my dad bought his, now mine, shtle 3*, BSA 1913 for 25.00 at sears in 1969 .... the year i was born.... and i still kill deer every year with it.
The fact also remains that for many, the no1 mk3 they own is not a historically significant firearm from a collectable value.... but IS a keeper firearm for it's game getting ability.
for these folks, and those who are tired of scoping thier enfield with a Dovetailed, weaver to-1 rail, I have a solution that will be availlable over the next 2 months or so.

so, for those who wish for me to keep this thread "politically correct" , we will assume that my query is directed at those with "existing" holes on thier no1 mk 3 type enfields. :D :D

I did not hop the fence from main battle rifles to come over here and stir up sh*t, I'm a new dealer endeavoring to bring some quality items to fellow gun nuts.

What.... did someone tell you that we still enjoy a good old lynching now and then :dancingbanana:

by all means bring up new interesting parts, once Bubba has done in a rifle there are few options left.

but if you start talking about butchering a perfectly good rifle..... :runaway: we'll have us a lynching :D :D

too funny..... I've cruised round these parts before.... and witnessed a few of said lynchings LOL :D
you can rest assured..... i will be restraining my offerings to scope mounts and will NOT be "bubba king" and be looking to turn my enfield into an AR, like some of the abberations i've seen out there hehehe

Hahaha...btw, could someone please explain the difference between a Weaver base and a Picatinny rail? I believe both accept the same rings don't they? Either fits?

I have one of those T01 I think bases for Enfield No 4 that has the multiple cuts for rings, how is this new one different?

A new Picatinny rail that fits existing holes, sounds great. We all know there are thousands of rifles out there with the holes in them.
 
The Weaver TO-1 is a dove tail cut rail with a small stop at the front to prevent ring slide under recoil. I have seen a copy of this done in "cross slot" weaver or picatinny rail. the difference is one Weaver is a company..... and a "weaver rail" is the metric side of a picatinny rail.... I think 20mm wide???

anyways, there may very well be other mounts out there similar, but i never could find one for my no1 mk 3. If they are out there, they must not be widely availlable. I feel the urge to change that :D
