Hi all,

I have a '42 Maltby No4, a "43 Faz No4 and I recently picked up a NOS set from the UK that dates '50 or so. As far as I know, the wood on both rifles is original factory.

On the '42 the fore end wood is narrow and meets the handguards smoothly. On the '43 the wood seems to have more material, and is a little proud of the handguards. The NOS stock set defiantly has more material and it to is proud of the handguards.

Now I can't seem to recall (that could just be me), but did they change the fore end specs sometime during the war or post war, so there was more wood in the fore end?

Pictures will be coming when I get home.

Cheers
Thomas
