I am going to try and fit a lee enfield No 4 Mk1 full stock to a Mk2 sporter. I looked on the internet and it looks possible. Mk2 stuff seems hard to get. Any Tips?

The Mk2 is cut between the draws with a cross bolt compared to the earlier models that have the backstrap and the draws are connected .Getting Mk2 wood is not that hard, you just have to look. After all, they are the latest greatest incarnation of the most enduring rifle of British Empire

Remember that old saying "Yes Jane...There's a difference". To convert a Mk1 to a Mk2 you need to remove the rear tie plate and pin, cut the web, inlet for the trigger hanger, patch where the tie plate was removed and drill/counter sink for the new tie bolt. Then there's the front receiver reinforcement to deal with. It's work and can be done. It's far easier to sell your MK1 stock and buy a Mk2 stock. I've got a few Mk2 stocks...if interested PM. Ron
