Enfield Volley Sights

I picked up a full wood stock for no1 mkiii project rifle recently. The stock has the cut outs for volley sights. I haven't looked for a volley set up but don't imagine they are easy to come by at a reasonable price. Eventually I may get a set but for now I am considering making a removable delete panel...any suggestions what material I should use...wood, brass, mild steel? I'm not too concerned about collector value as this rifle is a pieced together numbers non matching rifle that is intended to be a fun little project.

I've used sporter foreends and buttstock for patch donors! Works pretty well.

Yeah, was thinking on donor patch pieces, as I have spare sporter stuff.
