enfield wood?

ENFIELD WOOD;

We began shipping our containers out of Greece this week end, American ones on the way....

Canadian shipments should leave shortly....

Yes my friend, because of restraints applied by the shipping companies and what they will carry to Canada and the fact that our cargo has to be on a ship coming directly to Canad, it must NOT make any stops at US ports....

A ship couldn't go to Canada first and then to the US, I suppose.

Interesting that there's that much interest in Lee Enfields in the US. Thought they were just obsessed with Garands, M1s, and AR15s.

I would surmise that most of the Enfield Wood is for the Number 4 rifle.

Is there Number 1 rifle wood too?

Is there metal, such as stock bands, screws, etc. available?

For those who think the "USA first" attitude, I would say that they do not really understand shipping schedules and availability, International Laws, and the fact that a few containers of Enfield Wood amongst the many containers that a ship can hold is only part of a larger shipment of other goods too.

If shipping space happened to be available at the moment to ship it to the USA, then it is only practical to load that portion first and get it out of there before some other Greek Politician decided he needed a new Mercedes or whatever.

thanks for the expert clarifications.... i do appreciate that businesses have to do what they can based on what options are available to them. next time i'll phrase it as a rhetorical question.

I still think it's interesting that there's demand for Lee Enfield stuff in the U.S. how mainstream is it?

and on another note, maybe i'll have to think about de-sporterizing my old No 1 Mk III (sorry if my nomenclature is incorrect). Dating back to 1917 (as did my late uncle, who willed it to me), seems intact except for the cut down stock.

Post#5 - yes there's (new) wood for No1 MkIII's among other fun bits and pieces, remember the Greeks received tons of Enfields and spares, given the state of some of the Greek Enfields I've seen, they didn't use too many of the spares (woo hoo!) :D
