enfield wood?

ENFIELD WOOD ETC, we still have not had the time to sort the container, it is on our list of "things to do"

ok Johnone....I'm retired and live in Ontario, so I'm close sort of....I'm used to being taxed to death for any income so ....I'll come there and sort out the wood etc for peanuts.....perhaps just a few picks of the wood furniture per week...call me...we may be able to work something out.... either way.....I still have a few bubba'd enfields that need to be redone so I'm sure we'll talk sooner or later...thx....looking forward to being able to getting ahold of some new wood for the Enfields

l mentioned in another post that I would do it for 10 bucks of gas
and i'd bring two sons to help

I too would need some wood and some metal parts to refurbish a
no, 1 and a no.4. By the way my boys are the ones that you would
see at a range defending the enfeild rifles. they were well taught. :D

Sweet - the crate is actually here. To be frank I'm amazed, I figured with the gong show Greece has been sliding into for the last while they were as good as gone. I need a complete set of wood and mounts forward of the trigger :p
 
Crazy.... 2 years later and we can almost touch them. :)

Patience in this business is a must, that is for sure.

Let's hope we can re-fit some new wood over the New Year!

Yes the Greek material which should have taken about 8 weeks, took 29 months to get the containers to the US and 20 months for the Canadian delivery....

But that is far from the record, we have waited much longer on other goods, last year we completed an ammo deal that took 4 years from start to finish....

We have recently "revived" a deal that we started in 1998....

In many cases the government changes before we have a chance to finish negotiations and then we have to start over....

John... this is a bit off topic, but pays homage to your ability to acquire interesting goods under extreme circumstances....know you went into Yugoslavia, etc, and found some treasures... think they're all gone, or is there a trove of Springfield 1903's out there just waiting for you to give them a new home?

I hope you didn't have any pending deals in Libya :eek: seems that they are in a little bit of a shake up.

But there were some great pictures of what the new government was finding in warehouses :D

In fact we began shipping out of the former Yugoslavia in 1985 and never stopped....

We shipped several hundred thousand rifles to the USA alone, we shipped several hundred thousand Automatic weapons to the USA....

We have shipped arms and munitions all over the world from the former Yugoslavia....
I have a shipment due in a few weeks, as a matter of fact....

There are still many treasures over there but little for the average collector....

The last 1903 rifles I saw was in Greece a few months ago, on the way to the foundry, brand new, still in the original shipping crates....

But who knows, maybe someday, someplace ??

guess it's one of those things about non-proliferation of small arms? Don't THINK it's lack of interest is it?

Thanks John, it's interesting (if heartbreaking in this case) to know that such things are still out there.
