are there many of us that still use our enfields and other military rifles as hunters now days just thinking of this while remembrance day is upon us, dad uses his fathers the day before, the day of and the day after remembrance day as kind of a tribute to him.

I will... my dad retired my grandpa's old service rifle after last season. I'm just waiting for it to arrive so I can get it setup for my use. I plan on shooting my first "rifle" moose with it next season. (assuming I get a draw!)

I shot my Enfield, .303 on friday.

I shot cast bullets, sized to .313", IMR SR4759 and Trail Boss.
Seated the bullets to 0.010" into the rifling.

I shot 6 different loads, and got 3 groups under 2.5"!
Two Groups were 1.5"-2.0"! I had a great time!

I thought, what a better way to spend a Rememberance day!

Now I am going to stretch this rifle out as far as the sights will allow me!

This rifle is capable of 1"-1.5" groups with jacketed loads (174Gr. Hornadys & W760,or H414).

These are fun fun guns!

I just picked up a No5 and it will get equal carry time as my levers. There is nothing wrong with a 303 for hunting. There are a number of popular available100 year old cartridges but none have the history for a Canadian as the 303 in an Enfield. A clean sporterized model is still one of the best deals for a hunter.
