Enfields...so do you guys actually shoot them?

I used to shoot them a lot, but don`t seem to get time much anymore. hopefully when I get back out west that will change. I have been casting plenty of bullets from my lead collection. movers will move non explosive components for reloading packed in tobacco tins and peanut butter jars, but are less likely to want to load up 5-600 lbs of lead in 5 gal pails
my dad used to keep a sporter No 1 in the barn over the door for yotes, badgers and what not. oiled it with used motor oil and axle grease to counteract the rust that left to fester in select spots. never FTF and never a hard extraction. I think my brother has it in the safe now, greasy oily and rusty, just like it always was.

Highly recommend having an Enfield in your collection, great fun to shoot and compared to my 300 WinMag and 300 Weatherby, they recoil like a .22. Well, not really, but everything's relative. I've got 4 of various years/models and shoot and reload for them all.

Thanks for the info. Been researching casting too.

I dont find the recoil on the no1 or 4 anything significant at all either. The no5 and its rock hard rubber and smaller footprint sure hits me hard though.

See what 150gr reduced loads have to offer.

I've loaded 123 grain SKS bullets and reduced load IMR4064 successfully for Enfields.
