im going to detract from the pix here with one question;
I want to make a butt stock from scratch for my Enfield, which is best wood that you can commonly find in local lumber yards???
Just found this thread, I have a fairly interesting Lee Enfield myself. Just took these pics just now, I apologize for the lack of good lighting and camera lens. Time to get an L model...
Anyways, here is my 1941 Lee Enfield No 4 Mk 1 B T rifle. Serial number 4900A.
Sorry, I went kinda crazy with the camera.
I got it for free from someone who thought it was a German sniper rifle. He didn't want to register it. This thing is heavy as hell. The scope is built like a tank and is really clear.
This one i was told made a trip overseas, after WW2, then back to Canada. I found out from a collector that it looks like the stock was redone, and it appears that it is a Savage made, Long branch assembled rifle, with a PCMR stamp but i cant remember what it was. I read at the end of WW2 Savage parts were sold/given to Long branch
Recently found out the more detailed info on this rifle courtesy of some CGN members.
It was made by Royal Ordinance Factory Maltby in 1943, Post war it was "regulated" (accurized) by Fulton.
