hey my buddy just picked up a nice cooey model 37a
and we have been researching it and from what we have found
these guns were cooey 84's or 840's like mine or winchester
37a's or 370's but not cooey 37a's does anyone know when this may
have been manufactured? also it has a nice light colored stock with
engraved grips and engraving on the action. what kind of wood could this be
and what price would it have been new compared to an 840?:)

37a

The Win 37A's don't bring much more than the Cooey 840's at auction anyways. I think some people are a little turned off at the gold plated trigger and cheesy engraving on such an inexpensive gun. Kind of like putting spinners on a Dodge Neon. I had a 20 gauge nice 37A I bought at action 2 years ago for $65 thinking I could flip it and make some cash. It ended up being sold on Valleyguns website for $85. With the hassles and transfer fee at the time, it wasn't worth the effort. You might as well have fun with it and shoot it, it's value is only as a shooter. Safe shooting, Peter.
