Does anyone here or does anyone here know of someone or a company that does engraving on firearms? I'm talking really nice engravings, like patterns and swirls etc.

I would love to have my favorite handgun engraved.

What kind of pricing does this usually entail? I'm going to guess a pretty penny but some numbers or info would be great.

Howie Mason in Cranbrook. Look him up at "masons trains" on the web. He is a machinist who builds huge model trains for customers all over the world. He also does a ton of gun work. His scroll engraving is amazing. FWIW he is best friends with Richard Franklin, one of the most renowned smiths out there and does a lot of work for him.
 
Try James Galts Goldsmith here in Calgary. He has engraved many guns, including handguns and can show examples of his work. Ballpark rate is $100/hour.
 
thanks for the ballpark, gives me a good idea of what a 4 hour job is going to cost :D

A few years ago I bought a colt 1911 series80 from him that he was
displying at the Calgary gun show to show off his work - it was top drawer.
I should have bought the revolver also at the time.
You would not be sorry, cost wise , now, I don't know.
I do know 4 hours will not get you anything done.
