Enifield Long Branch Question

I have a newly acquired long branch and was wondering if anyone could give me a hand trying to approximate its date, and possible just for S&G could tell me what shed be worth? Ive got to fix the wood a bit, but the steel is in absolutely marvelous shape, and the bore is bright and sharp.

It should be dated on the left receiver wall.
If that has been polished off, an estimate could be made from the serial number.

Yeah date should be on the receiver. Need photos of markings and numbers. Should be LB markings on the parts and numbers should match

Don't "fix" the wood. Let the buyer do it. Sanding it down will knock several hundred dollars off the price.

Yes...sanding...remove value with every stroke. Don't do it.

Every Long Branch has the year made on the left side.

There is likely a youtube video on "How to turn a $1000 military surplus rifle into a $300 one", which would include "refinishing" aka sanding and slathering on the spar varnish.

You see a few Savage no4's that people have turned into junk by shortening the barrels. Guns are all rebuildable , if not for the cutting of the barrel
