Hi there, I'm kind of new here so bear with me, but I have some questions relating to the Beretta 1200FP and the Beretta 1201FP. Here's the background, I have a Beretta 1200FP on layaway right now for $850, I've done a bit of research on it but there doesn't seem to be a lot of information on these guns, from what I've gathered they are similar to the Benelli 121, they can take some Benelli M1 parts and you can even fit an M1 stock onto it, but aside from that I don't know that much about them. Could any of you please educate me on the 1200FP and the 1201FP? Also I was wondering if you could fit a Mesa Tactical Urbino stock onto the 1200FP? Firstly, I don't think I'll be able to find an M1 pistol grip stock, secondly, while I can use a longer LOP stock, I tend to prefer a 12" -13" LOP myself and thirdly, the Mesa Tactical Urbino is one of my favorite stocks, I have one on my Beretta A300 Partol. Thanks in Advance.

**EDIT** I forgot to mention I'm already aware that the 1200FP can only fire 2 3/4" shells as opposed to the 1201FP that can fire 3", and I should also clarify that the gun I have on layaway has a 20" barrel, so it's a non-restricted shotgun, it wouldn't be an issue for me if it was the restricted 18" version of the 1201FP, since I do have my RPAL, but I figured I'd mention that too.

i have some experience with these guns . the one i have is a 1201 fp with a standard stock. these guns pattern tighter than a cylinder bore and measure tighter than cylinder bore. the mag cap is easy to remove. if you want to access the mag itself to put a limiter in for hunting there is a small set screw that is on the mag body that must be removed . it is hard to see .the barrels are chrome lined and have rifle sights from the factory with the inertia system in the bolt . the guns are light weight and fast shooting with more recoil than some. i never notice the recoil when shooting at coyotes .

Thanks for the info, I'll keep that in mind for if and when I do get my CORE. When I do finally get my 1200, the next time I go out shooting I might have to compare it to my A300 Patrol, since that gun is supposedly optimized for Federal Flite Control 00 Buck, I'd like to see how both the A300 and 1200FP do with Flite Control.

Update: When the 25th of March rolls around I should be able to pay off the rest I owe on my 1200FP, I'll let you guys know when I get it as well as some pictures.

UPDATE: As of yesterday I fully paid off and picked up my Beretta 1200FP, I did a bit of cleaning on it and so far it works, added some Hockey tape to the stock for better grip haven't got a chance to shoot it yet, but I'll keep you guys posted when I do, I had a few issues though with the magazine spring and follower jamming occasionally, but I suspect replacing the spring and follower with a new one would possibly be the remedy. I've come to find out today though, that my particular example was actually made some time in 1989 as indicated by the "AU" proof mark, which I find interesting because I'm pretty sure that was when the 1201FP was starting to be introduced, meaning like that one time in the 90s when Apple was selling both the Macintosh Classic and the upgraded Classic II, Beretta sold the 1200FP briefly along side the 1201FP. This is just a theory though. Also it's my Birthday today.
