This is all based on the honor system. In doing this we trust that the score you provide with us is scored properly, and is shot at the correct distance.

You may post a picture of the target if you would like, you do not have to though.

50 yard iron sights target
http://www.uspalma.com/Targets/PDFs/75FT NRA.pdf

Print off two targets. It is my recommendation that if you have any cardstock or photo-paper that you print it off on that. Fire 5 shots at each bull (20 shots in all) for a maximum score of 200. If you miss the bull (but still get on paper), count shot as a “0”. This target is scored best edge. The highest ring the bullet touches it is counted as that number

You may report group size if you want, this is optional however. To measure group size, use a caliper, ruler, or micrometer (if group size is small enough), and find the two shots that are the farthest away from each other. Now that you have done this, measure the group from the outside of one bullet hole to the outside of the other. Now subtract .2 from that number to find your group size (Usually when you measure a single shot it comes out closer to .2 then .22). There are other methods for doing this that you may use as well such as: Measuring the center of the one furthest shot and the center of the other furthest shot (and not subtracting anything). Or measuring from the inside of one of the furthest shots to the outside of the other furthest shot. Anyway of these three methods will work for calculating group size CTC (center to center).

If you can not tell what ring a shot touches, please count that shot as the lower of the two. If you have a scoring gauge, you may use it.

Damn, I printed off a bunch of the old targets and shot them on the weekend. Then came and read the new post.
I assume that is a typo copied over from the old post - new scores will be from 200, not 250?
I shot a few of the new targets yesterday, had the day off. I shot 4 bulls, 2 pages for each score as I figured it would be easier to score. 10 shots on one bull, with a bit of luck would leave one big hole.
The new target is much better, filled the sight and easier to see.

I was out shooting with Keith (Slash5), and he encouraged me to shoot a set of targets for a score, and post here. Keith supplied the targets and allowed me to use his Walther UIT - 4 bulls, 2 pages for the score (out of 200).

Walther UIT, target style aperture rear sight, aperture front, Winchester Dynapoints, stock gun, Caldwell (tupperware) rest, rear beanbag
almost no wind, 20ºC

It was interesting to note that out of the few different types of ammo I tried, that the cheap, bulk packaged, Winchester Dynapoints gave me consistantly tight groups with Keith's UIT. (I have found the same thing with some of my own guns, including the pistols). I'm hoping that the new production Dynapoints will be as good as the older stuff that I used here.

Tried some new stock Dynapoints and they seem to be as good as the older ones. The aperture front sight on Keith's UIT was a HUGE advantage to my aging eyes over the post front sight on my KKJ-T. I have to dig out some inserts.

173, Len, Silverdale, On, leonardj
Walther KKJ-T, target style aperture rear sight, post front, Winchester Dynapoints, stock gun, Caldwell (tupperware) rest, rear beanbag
A pretty fair breeze blowing from behind, at a slight L to R angle.

Great shooting guys!

Good to hear that the new target is easier to shoot and thanks for pointing out the mistake on my part.

Kieth and Len, I do appologize for the short notice on changing the target. That was completely MY FAULT. If you let me know which scores were shot at the old target and what scores were shot at the new target I will sort them out a bit and you guys can have your own list at the end of the month.

Regards,
Jordan

Wind died near the end of my shooting session and conditions were perfect. Shot the group below on my last target....0.253" center to center @ 50 yards. My best group ever with iron sights :D .

Made some changes in the sighting equipment on a couple guns, so I went out to the range to sight them in, and see if I could better my previous score - that I shot with Keith's UIT. The wind caused me a lot of frustration (trying to shoot between gusts), scores went the wrong way, but it was still an afternoon out shooting.

182 3X, Len, Silverdale, On, leonardj
Walther KKJ-M, target style diopter rear sight, aperture front, Winchester Dynapoints, stock gun, Caldwell rest, Stoney Point front and rear bags.

Time to go home - LOL.

Nice shooting Len.

Those winds can be annoying as heck, especially when they are gusting opposite ways, and swirling, makes it really hard, but it does boost your experience in shooting in the wind.

I think you did preatty good overall :)

Tried again to better my score that I shot with Keith's UIT - close, but no cigar. (hey, Keith, wanna' sell that UIT? :D )

Today was a fairly nice day for shooting - just a very gentle breeze that barely moved the range flags, so I decided to shoot some different target ammos for a score and see what resulted. Once again, the Dynapoints came out on top.

(all the info for the shooting conditions is the same, except for the ammo, which is listed below, along with the score)

Len, Silverdale, On, leonardj
Walther KKJ-M, target style diopter rear sight, aperture front, stock gun, Caldwell rest, Stoney Point front and rear bags.
19 C, very gentle breeze.

192 2X - Winchester Dynapoints :dancingbanana:

190 2X - PMC Scoremaster

Almost a perfect day for shooting targets this morning. Wind picked up quite a bit by around 11:00 AM or so, but I was finished with the .22 RF shooting by then. I was running low on targets, so I shot the prescribed 10 shots per bull on a single page. It was really difficult to score - I had to wait until I got home so that I could use my lighted 6" magnifying glass. Better with 5 shots at 4 bulls - 2 sheets.

190 7X, Len, Silverdale, On, leonardj
Walther KKJ-M, target style diopter rear sight, aperture front, Winchester Dynapoints, stock gun, Caldwell rest, Stoney Point front and rear bags.

The Reminton 41P is a recent acquisition - just got it all cleaned up, and this was it's first day out. Apparently, it does not like the Dynapoints - but that is the only ammo I had with me today.

162 1X, Len, Silverdale, On, leonardj
Remington Model 41P "Target Master", aperture rear sight, aperture front, Winchester Dynapoints, stock gun, Caldwell rest, Stoney Point front and rear bags.

The KKJ-T seemed to shoot about the same with the Tenex as with the Dynapoints - not nearly as dramatic a difference as with the KKJ-M in the 50 yd scoped shoot.
