Hello Shooters,

EOSC IDPA is running an IDPA New Shooters Orientation course on September 27th and 28th. This course will be taught a little differently than what we have been doing in the past. We will be trying out our new online system.

The “classroom” portion of the course is now simply an open book exam that covers the IDPA rulebook. You will have to complete this course BEFORE coming to the live fire day. The exam will randomly generate questions from the rule book and you must have a 75% or higher to pass the online portion. You will have 3 hours to complete the exam and 2 attempts to pass.

Link to rulebook: http://members.idpa.com/Content/Rules/g0hunysc.eoc.pdf

We will have paper copies of the rulebook for sale at the NSO for $5

This course is not designed to teach you how to shoot, it is designed to teach semi-experienced shooters to safely navigate a course of fire. We can help correct minor issues such as grip, but shooters are expected to be familiar with their choice of firearm.

The Course Outline is as follows:

September 12th – 25th: Online exam is emailed out to those participating in the course.
September 27th: Review of Range Commands, Demonstrations, Live Fire Drills
September 28th: 3 Stage Mini-Match

YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE AN IDPA MEMBER TO TAKE THIS COURSE

Cost: $25 for just the course or $30 to include the mini-match. Fee is paid morning of live fire.

The course will require roughly 200 rounds and the mini-match at least 40 rounds.

You must have IDPA legal equipment; this will be verified the morning of the live fire. A minimum of 3 magazines, firearm, and mag pouch are required. We suggest having more magazines if possible. A concealment garment is also required. This can be anything that completely covers your firearm and magazines with your arms extended parallel to the ground.

To Sign Up for the NSO please email IDPA@eosc.ca. If you are already have an IDPA member number please include it in the email.

The 3 stage mini-match is divided up into morning and afternoon shoots. Morning Shoot is Squad 1 and Afternoon Shoot is Squad 2.

You MUST sign up for the match on your own. If you have an IDPA Member Number (F***** or CA********) Sign up as a member, if not sign up as a Non-Member. Sign Up’s are done via this website: http://www.idpamatchsignup.com?matchid=62F606FA-E35A-4174-A71C-914520340889

Any questions or concerns can be sent to Greg Kibble-Sartorelli, IDPA Rep for EOSC at IDPA@eosc.ca.
