EOSC will be hosting another IDPA New Shooters Orientation Course on July 26/27. We will be starting our new format which includes some small changes.
The course is conducted over two days and requires shooters to be familiar with the safe handling of the firearm they wish to use. This course is not designed to teach you how to shoot well, but to teach you how to shoot safely in a competition environment.
Day 1 of the course is a combination of classroom, dry fire and live fire drills. Day 2 is a 3 stage mini match. The classroom portion of the course covers the principals of IDPA, Shooting and Scoring Rules and basic equipment rules.
Shooters taking this course should have the following gear in order to meet IDPA requirements:
1 IDPA approved Firearm
Minimum of 3 Magazines (4 is recommended)
1 IDPA approved Double Magazine Pouch (or 2 Single Magazine Pouches) OR Moonclips
1 Concealment Garment
Shooters should verify their equipment prior to the course against the rulebook. Any questions can be sent to IDPA@eosc.ca
Cost of the course is $30 for the two days. You do NOT need to be a member of IDPA to take this course now. Attendance on both days of the course is mandatory.
