This is a possibility I haven't yet explored. I haven't turned up anything on google regarding my problem so I suspect you are correct, or I am the first person in several million units sold to have this failure.
I purchased a replacement battery for my pistol-mounted laser/light. I cheaped out and bought a no-name, 1/4 the price of a regular battery. The light barely lit up. Not having learned my lesson, I bought another brand of no-name battery from another store, saem thing. Now I was worried that there was something wrong with my laser/light assembly.
Before sending it back to the manufacturer, I decided to buy a Duracell and try it out one more time. Lo & behold, the light was now operating perfectly.
Well, you have a few choices. Depending on how handy you are, of course.
#1 Swap out the batteries again for another set bought from somewhere else. Measuring the voltage of a battery when it isn't under load can give you the false impression that it's fine.
#2 Send it off for repair.
#3 Take it apart & check to see if there isn't a pot you can adjust to make the low-batt symbol disappear.
In times past, you would find such adjustment pots on pc boards of various electronic devices. It would allow a tech to adjust warning light thresholds etc. Mind you, they prolly just use zener diodes now, there ain't much room on the pc board of your Eotech.
L3 says Being the second owner, and living in Canada (export permits required to RMA) I woul have to pay for the repair, the shipping, and attain the appropriate export permits and pay included fees. They then went on to say I should buy a new unit and they refered me to a dealer in Surrey, BC.
