This might seem like a strange question but I just got an EOTech 552.A65 in the mail today. I took it out of the box, read the instruction manual, put batteries in it and turned it on. But the reticle seems to be blurry, and the ring around the dot is not very big at all. I was lead to believe the ring was much wider around the red dot. I dicked around with the brightness settings for a while to see if it would get any clearer and it did, a little, but it's still kind of blurry. Is this supposed to be this way? Because a blurry tight ring around the red dot in the center really ####s up the sight picture. It would cover a good chunk of the target unless I was shooting at 10 yards and in. I'll put it on my Tavor and giv'er a try on Friday when I'm off work but at first glance this doesn't seem to be what I was looking for. Thoughts? Suggestions? It cost 600$ so I hope I can figure out how to make this thing work properly. Thanks.

How is your vision. I have astigmatism and the eotech dot and ring is egg shaped and blurry due to my eye sight.

2 things, your vision or you are looking at the reticle instead of your target.

Take it outside look at a tree or something then hold it up, if it's clear then it's not your vision.

It's probably my vision then. I need new glasses at the present as the ones I'm wearing don't seem to do the trick that well anymore. But I can see other things 100% clearly that are a foot in front of my face, in fact I can use the iron sights on my tavor without a problem, so I didn't think there'd be a problem with the EOTech...

Problem is the eotech is holographic so if you look at the reticle as if you were looking at irons it blurs up. If you look through the reticle and focus on your target instead it clears up. UNLESS your vision is bad, then you may need glasses. If you've already got glasses then wear em and try the above again.
