Cause carrying batteries around on patrol sucks. However I don't think I would bet my life on rechargables.

When your life depends on your rifle, its nice to know your optic won't sh*t the bed due to dead batteries.

Im not an expert, but I would trust the original manufacturer over a mod.

Has anyone had a chance to play with this to see if its durable?

It would be nice to see how long the batteries last while in the dark, and if the batteries can be swapped out if need be.

It would also be nice to see if it is still water proof.
