right now average price for the 553's in canada is around $700-$800 dollars.
depending on how much they want to gouge, of course these are not available in canada from any retailers and it is against US State Dept. ITAR Regulations to import one into canada..... so it is always buyer beware and make sure you never intend to take the rifle you mount it on into the USA for shooting competitions.
having said that, you can find them on ebay for $550 pretty easy.

Yup, plus the US State dept. can charge people, either the sender or the reciever with import/export fraud..... or illegal import/export of controlled items.
