i have an armalite m15a4, 16" barrel, fixed carry handle.
recently purchased a very solid a.r.m.s. a2plus forward mount to use for my eotech 552.
to my dismay:eek:.i can't co witness the iron sights. the eotech sits a bit too high
& i stare into the top of the nv button when looking through the rear sight.
is there another mount that will sit lower or am i stuck with that untill i break down & get a flat top?
looking forward to a little insight..

If you mount a rail on your carrying handle the EOtech will probably sit way too high.

If you want co-witness you should get a Daniel Defence Omega rail. The Eotech will be further out but its doesn't really matter. Plus the rail is free float and requires no gunsmithing.

EOTechs have had issues with heat when mounted on rails above the barrel, then again mounting any optic over the barrel is not generally a good idea. In years past it was all the rage but we know better now.
As for mounting solutions a cantilever carry handle mount may be the best bet,not endorsing any of these but a quick Google search brought up these

Get rid of that carry handle upper and ARMs mount, buy a flat top upper and mount the Eotech to that. Flip the other parts to cover the cost. Flat top uppers can be had for around $140 or so from some of the sponsors at the top of the page.
Carry handles are so '90's.
YMMV

Is there even enough heat transfer during semi-auto 5/10 round shooting to do any sort of damage to an EOtech mounted to the Omega rail ?

Depends on how many rounds are fired, we had them fail as low at 50C temps in Afghanistan. Once the resin holding that battery terminals goes that's it for the scope, never mind the electronics.

Or save the Eotech for another gun where you can baby its location and get an aimpoint for this application.
