Which one would you get? EXPS2 or EXPS3? I know that EXPS3 has night vision capability, but is it really worth it?

Also on EXPS2 or EXPS3, if you go higher on the last number -2 and -4, you get more dots in the recticle to shoot further objects. So my question is, if you can shoot up to 600 meters with EXPS3-4, why would you get EXPS3-0 or EXPS 3-2 if they are all on the same price? The way I see it EXPS3-4 can do EXPS3-0 and EXPS3-2, but not the other way around.

Your opinion?

I wanted the 2, but could not find it... So, I ended up getting a EXPS3-0 and I will never use the night vision feature...

So, I guess that's how I see it, will you EVER use it? No? Then you know your answer!

Cheers
Jay

I just sold my EXPS 3.0, I owned a XPS 3.0 before and wanted the built in lever mount. To answer your question, and as mentioned above, we will never get to use NV, so a 2.X is all you really need. A 2.0/3.0 is my favourite heads up display.

IMHO, you would have to have great eyes to hit much at 600 yds with any red dot, I had a G23 with mine, but even with it 600 yds would be a push. But I have old eyes, so what do I know!
I sold my Eotech and I mounted an ACOG for longer range shots, as I don't use my AR at really close ranges.

That's my 2 cents.

Night vision goggle is available for civilian, and in case of zombie outbreak :p you might need the NV function. I'd like to have more functions (as long it is the same price) that I don't need it now than not having it when I need it.

Forget about the NV function. How about the ability to hit further with the EXPS3/2-4 type? Why you want to get EXPS3-0 if you can go the distance with EXPS3-4 for the same price? OR, why you choose EXPS2-0 or -2 where you can go the distance with EXPS2-4?

I had the same question like you but was lucky enough to have a friend who bought the EXPS3-4 just before me so had the chance to try it out. For ME I find the 4 dots of the EXPS3-4 pretty fuzzy but when use with 3X the dots become crisp again. If I remember correctly the reticle is calibrated for a 62gr out of 14.5" M4 barrel. I don't really like ballistic reticle and most of the time a shot the cheap ammo 55gr. So I end up buying the EXPS2-0 since I don't need NV, I'm very please with the crisp
single dot of the reticle. If you can get your eyes on them before buying it would the best way if not hope this help.

Eotech MPOIII set with EXPS2 and Eotech G23 flip magnifier. What is the going price on this set up and does anyone sell them in Canada?

I have used NV with a 511 model. I found you had to re-tweak the brightness when you switched to NV anyway. All it does is dims it a lot with the one click. It can still be used with NV just fine if you dial down the brightness, just a longer process.

The subject is way more important than the date, as newcomers to the process of filtering through the myriad of optics choices still benefit from new posts, particularly when there have been issues in the past that have been corrected and new posts reflect that. I'm in the process of trying to decide on a red dot or holistic sight myself. At this point in time, I'm focusing more on CQB than long range but try to digest whatever people say about anything. I think I'm looking at cheaper than most eotech though, at least for now, maybe NCStar or Micro Red Dot.

If you're mostly doing CQB stuff then a red dot of some kind would probably serve you well. I would recommend against going for the really cheap red dots though. If you are on a budget have a look at vortex optics.

I have one 512, one exps2-2 and one exps3-0.
I got the exps3-0 just in case of night vision one night in my life. But it's my only sight that's night vision compatible.

I also have a trs25 on my cz, but I'm getting tired of it since it's just a dot and I need something with more of a circle dot. So I'll probably buy another exps2 to put on it instead.
