Will an eotech hold up on mossburg 500 spx tac shotty ? I dont want to spend 500 bucks and

Just a personal comment fwiw...
I have a Mossberg 500 SPX 6-shot (#51523).
I bought an EOTech XPS2 to put on it, and pulled it back off in about 5 minutes.
The EOTech is massive in size, gets in the way, gets banged about easy, makes the rifle top-heavy, and with the SPX's high rail the EOTech is way too high above bore and changes the shouldering of the rifle.
Plus you pretty much have to remove the existing rear sight to properly fit the EOTech onto the rail, so going back to irons is more work.
You may like it, I completely did not.
